Back to Blogging

So I decided it is time to update my sad excuse for a blog.  It has been way too long.  Not that anyone would read said blog...but my kids will get a kick out of it anyway.  We moved in December to South Jordan and we love it here.  I miss my family in california and Arizona but we live right across the street from the Oquirrh Mountain Temple so it brings peace and comfort to me when I am feeling especially lonely.  I love my kids and my husband so very much and I am so thankful to have them in my life.  So hopefully I can keep this updated for my family and friends :) I will try not to be too boring.

aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh

Here is Kyle after we started shaving his head...and as always in my family we can never do anything without being goofy in the process...this picture just makes me pee my pants laughing. We laughed so hard that night my sides hurt.

Temple open house

We also got a new temple last year. I am so thankful for my little family and that I was able to have three beautiful children. Some days I wish I could have had more and I get frustrated that my body did not allow me to have more....but then I slap myself and I am soooo thankful for my cute family. Can I get reeeeeally cheesey for a moment and just say that my husband ROCKS !! It was like my Heavenly Father hand picked a man for me and plopped him right in front of me. Thankfully I had the good sense to recognize him....we had such a great experience with our kids and showing them the inside of this BEAUTIFUL temple.

My half marathon

So another highlight of the year was my half marathon....well this picture is not the most attractive but partly because I had just finished the race. I hope I can continue to do it every year...it was the best. My next goal in life is to do a full marathon...I better hurry...cause I aint gettin any younger !!!!

Ryan got Married YAY !!!

So it has been far too long since I updated my blog so I will quickly update some of the hightlights from last year. Of course the biggest thing is Ryan..GOT MARRIED...hurray !! to a wonderful, pretty, spunky young lady named MEGAN...we love her and feel so blessed to have her as part of our family. And the best part is I get another sister and she has a basquillion sisters so our family has just gotten bigger. LOVE IT. The middle picture is my nephew Jaxon...my littlest (he is 4) Tyson and Kyle (he is 9) my oldest. Of course the top picture is me dancing with Ryan...I am way too old to be spazzing out like that...oh well.

Brunette

So I have been in denial for quite some time and I have been trying to stay "california Blond"...but I could clearly see that my roots were getting darker and darker. I finally took the leap and went brunette. It will be so much easier to keep up since I will be able to go longer between haircuts. The plan is to grow my hair out really long...so we will see how that turns out. It is amazing how soft and shiny it is now that I am not bleaching it anymore. Nate is traumatized by it...oh well...I love it. what do you think?????

Duvet cover by Danci

Here is the Duvet cover...it looks so COOL in his room....if you wanna see his room in person...call me or come on over.

Just so you all know....I took down this bed by myself and put it back up by myself...it was a beast. Oh and Danci Tatton tie Dyed his duvet cover...I will have to take a picture of his bed, too so you can see it better....
So here are the pictures of Kyle's FINALLY done bedroom...I think it turned out pretty darn cool. Of course it is already messy...but it is HIS room....so I don't get on his case too much...as long as I can walk in there. He set up all of his stuff and he loves it. The closet is awesome...we got it at IKEA (of course) and it is amazing. You can fit toys and clothes and everything in it. The decor Kyle totally picked. I think his favorite thing is his tribute to his "papa" ...my dad. Kyle loves Papa and loves that he now has part of him in his bedroom. What a great person to admire. I am just glad we are finally done....just a few minor things to finish but it was such a project....no more for a while.

My cute family

Fishing

Ellie Reeling her catch in....
Kyle and his catch of the day

Tyson and his wopper....hehehe

Fishing Trip

Saturday we went fishing. We found a great spot with places to explore and Nate set the kids up with their poles. Tyson got his first fishing pole and he was ready to catch a fish...who would be the first to catch one? Kyle started to get a little frustrated when his little sister caught the very first fish. Then shortly after Tyson caught his very first fish. Kyle finally caught one. The final count was Ellie 2, Tyson 2, Kyle 1, Nate 1. Nate caught a tiger trout and Nate and Kyle ate it today for lunch. Yuck.....I hate fish. But I love going fishing....well I love watching....very relaxing.

Ellie's Haircut

So we cut Ellie's hair...well Amber Winkel did....I let Ellie tell her how short to cut it and then Amber just went for it. I asked Ellie later why she wanted it that short and she said "I wanted to look like Mrs. Schaefer (her kindergarten teacher)" she also said that she wants to be a teacher when she grows up. I told her that is a WONDERFUL thing to want to be. She loves her teacher...and it is a relief that she looks up to someone like Mrs. Schaefer....instead of Brittney Spears...or Hannah Montana...or who knows who else. I personally think this haircut look ADORABLE on her but I am her mommy so of course I do.

Pinewood Derby

Kyle had his first pinewood derby. Nate helped him make his car and taught him some secrets to making the car fast. Kyle's car came in first all of the heats but one, that one he came in second. Good job KYLE !! Ellie thought it was pretty cool that she got to take a turn pushing the button that released the cars...go Ellie !

Kyle's Room

We are so excited to have Scott Morrill finishing Kyle's room. He had the idea of putting a ledge around half of the room so Kyle can put books, trophies, etc on display. We are so excited to see it done. He wants "Heroes" to be the theme of his room. So one wall will half four paintings of his favorite Book of Mormon heroes and then another wall will have a quote from Papa bearing his testimony that Kyle has kept in his journal. Then we will do some other vinyl pictures of his favorite things...one of them being a SCORPION....aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh. I think he is trying to keep me out of his room because I hate creepy things like that. I will post more as the room comes along. Thank you SCOTT...you are the best !!!

Tyson's Family Picture

I asked Tyson to draw a picture of his family and we took a video of it...I could not resist posting it on here. He is 3 years old and I think he drew a pretty darn good likeness of our family. We had so much fun watching him create this...I once heard that if you have a child draw a picture of their family they will draw the most important people the biggest. I was happy to see that we were all big..not just one person. Cute little Ty Ty...what would we do without him?

Ellie's Birthday

So Ellie had her first birthday party. We made an enchanted forest in the front room and then had Unicorn and dragon masks. It was so fun. Connor was the only boy but he was such a trooper. He just adapted and had so much fun. All of Ellie's friends gave her such cute things. Thank you everyone.

We miss you GAMMY and PAPA !!!

Here is a clip of spencer and his cake...notice he starts out slow and then as he realizes what he has he goes faster and faster. Hope you like this Gammy and Papa...this one is for YOU guys.

MMMMM...Yummy cake !!

I love it that Cynthia gives each of her kids when they turn 1 year old their very own cake to just dig into. Spencer thought he had died and gone to heaven. He would have eaten the entire thing too if Cynthia had not decided that he had eaten enough. And let me tell you....when she pulled that cake away from him...he was maaaaaad.

Happy Happy 1st Birthday Spencer

January 2nd was Spencer's First Birthday. What a cutey. He opened his presents and cried when we tried to put him on his Zebra...he likes it now but I think he was traumatized at first. Of course when he opened his presents he was fixated on the wrapping paper and kept trying to eat the tags. It made me wonder why we don't just give cardboard and wrapping paper to our babies for their birthdays and Christmas?
